Gettysburg National Battlefield Museum Foundation
The Gettysburg Foundation is a private, nonprofit educational organization working in partnership with the National Park Service to enhance the preservation and understanding of the heritage and lasting significance of Gettysburg. It was actually a few years ago -- some concerned citizens gathered together to ensure that the site of the Battle of Gettysburg would henceforth be preserved for all posterity. The Gettysburg National Battlefield Museum Foundation is a private nonprofit organization tasking itself with preserving the battlefield and enhancing the understanding of the battle and its significance. The foundation has worked in concert with the National Park Service to build the new museum and visitor center and has raised funds to rehabilitate both the battlefield and cemetery.
