Automobile Protection Corporation
EasyCare is an Automobile Protection Corporation (APCO) brand. APCO was established in 1984 and celebrated a highly successful IPO in 1988. The company was acquired by Ford Motor Company in July of 1999 and in April of 2007, APCO's employees and their equity partners purchased the company back. Led by CEO Larry Dorfman, the company continues its long-standing tradition of continually setting the standard of excellence in this industry.
Automobile Protection Corporation offers extended-care warranties (under the EasyCare brand) and service contracts for new and used vehicles, including cars, pickups, and recreational vehicles. It has some 1.7 million active contracts, which are insured by XL Capital. The warranties provide bumper-to-bumper mechanical coverage and offer rental car and towing reimbursements. The company has agreements with auto manufacturers such as Honda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mazda, and Volvo. It sells its contracts through more than 3,000 car dealers in the US and Canada.
