Autostrada Torino-Milano SpA (originally called S.A. Autostrada Torino-Milano) has been established since 28 November 1928 for the purpose of constructing a motorway between the cities of Turin and Milan. On 30 November 1929 a ministerial convention was stipulated authorizing the construction and operation. After a 30 months construction period, the motorway was inaugurated on 25 October 1932. Autostrada Torino-Milano manages a number of roads that don't lead to Rome -- and one that does. A leading Italian tollway operator (behind Atlantia, formerly known as Autostrade), Autostrada Torino-Milano was established to construct and maintain the Turin-Milan motorway. It also controls a number of motorway concessions that operate tertiary tollways in northern and central Italy. One of its roads connects Pescara, on Italy's Adriatic coast, with Rome. Autostrada Torino-Milano's main source of revenue is the collection of traffic tolls.
