American Textile Company
American Textile Company was founded in Pittsburgh, PA in 1925 by the Ruttenberg family to make and sell all types of household products including a patented ironing board cover. In the 1980’s Reid Ruttenberg became sole owner and focused the company’s efforts on pillow and mattress protectors.
In the 1990’s the company expanded its manufacturing capabilities into Central America. During this decade Reid’s sons, Lance and Blake, joined the organization as Executive Vice President/Vice President of Operations and Vice President of National Accounts respectively. In 2003 the company moved into its new headquarters in Duquesne, PA. In 2007 manufacturing and distribution facilities were opened in Salt Lake City, UT and Dallas TX.
American Textile Company is proud to be a Pittsburgh based, family owned and operated business today, just as it was over 80 years ago. American Textile continues to evolve and grow through the development of new products focusing on protective and health bedding.
