LaserCard Corporation
Green cards are no longer green -- but they are high-tech, thanks to LaserCard. The company makes wallet-sized, recordable optical data cards that permanently store electronic text, graphics, photos, and security marks such as fingerprints and holograms. The tamper-resistant cards, which store data and interface with personal computers, are used for such purposes as identification, security, and vehicle registration. US green cards and border crossing cards account for about 20% of sales, while Saudi Arabia's national ID card represents 23%. Other applications include health record storage, security access, and e-commerce transactions. LaserCard also offers optical card drives and card system software.
