Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) speaks Korean with a Southern drawl. A subsidiary of South Korea's Hyundai Motor, HMMA began construction of its plant in 2002. The $1.4 billion facility turned out its first car, the Sonata sedan, in 2005. The factory includes a stamping facility, paint shop, vehicle assembly shop, and a two-mile testing track. At full capacity, HMMA will produce about 300,000 vehicles per year.
