Show me the power. Cuivre River Electric Cooperative provides power to four eastern counties in the "Show Me" state: Lincoln, Pike, St. Charles, and Warren. The membership utility, which is one of Missouri's largest cooperatives with more than 58,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers, gets its wholesale power supply from the Associated Electric Cooperative and the Central Electric Power Cooperative. Cuivre River Propane, jointly owned and operated by Cuivre River Electric Cooperative and MFA Oil Company supplies propane to co-op members from four locations, Bowling Green, Elsberry, Troy, and Wright City.

The firm provides electricity generation (about 1,420 MW of generating capacity) and transmission services for 25 member distribution cooperatives and 16 municipal utilities in five states (including Wisconsin). The member cooperatives and municipal utilities in turn distribute electricity to almost 252,900 consumers. Dairyland Power generates more than 1,100 MW of capacity from its coal-fired power plants; it also operates 3,150 miles of transmission lines and 280 substations.

The Dakota Electric Association delivers electricity to residents of southeastern Minnesota, the Gopher State , so they don't have to burrow underground for those long, cold winters. The member-owned utility serves more than 100,000 customers in portions of Dakota, Goodhue, Rice, and Scott counties south of Minneapolis-St. Paul. The co-op gets its power wholesale from transmission cooperative Great River Energy and distributes it over 3,720 miles of power lines, nearly two-thirds of which are buried. Dakota Electric is pushing energy efficiency programs and products to help save its customers money.

Deseret Power is a regional generation and transmission cooperative meeting the power requirements of its six member retail systems, and selling surplus power to municipalities, power marketers and other wholesale electric systems in five states.Beginning with a 25.1% interest in the Hunter II power plant, Deseret has grown into an integrated power producer in Utah. With corporate offices in South Jordan, Utah, Deseret owns 223 miles of transmission lines and 550 MW of generation. Deseret's primary generating resource, the Bonanza Power Plant is consistently ranked in the top environmentally clean coal fired plants in the U.S. and was the number one plant for availability in 2001 and 2002.As a cooperative, Deseret is owned by its six member systems: Bridger Valley Electric, Dixie Escalante, Flowell Electric, Garkane Energy, Moon Lake Electric, and Mt. Wheeler Power. Deseret's cooperative organization, combined with its vertical integration, positions Deseret to provide member/owners, partners and customers of all sizes competitive and stable power rates.
