The properties are managed by outside hotel operators under such brand names as Marriott, Sheraton, and Hilton. Among its properties are Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa and Hotel Deca in Seattle. LaSalle Hotel Properties became self-managing in 2001 after three years under the wing of Jones Lang LaSalle.

MHI Hospitality owns seven full-service hotels operating under the Hilton, Holiday Inn, Sheraton, and Crowne Plaza brands in the mid-Atlantic and southeastern US. The company also holds a minority stake in another hotel, has two under development, and owns leasehold interests in common areas of the Shell Island Resort in Wilmington, North Carolina. Operating through its subsidiaries, Summit Hotel is a self-advised real estate investment company that holds a portfolio of about 65 mid-scale and upscale hotels in 19 states, including major markets in western and southern states like Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, and Texas. Its hotels, which comprise more than 6,500 rooms, operate primarily under brands owned by Marriott International, as well as Hilton, Hyatt, and ICH. Shortly after its formation in 2010, Summit Hotel filed to go public and registered to convert into a real estate investment trust (REIT) for federal tax purposes.
