Sutter Health is just a stone's throw away. The Northern California, not-for-profit health care system is one of the nation's largest. After being formed more than a decade ago through the merger of Sutter Health and California Healthcare System, Sutter Health now caters to residents of more than 100 communities from the Bay Area to the Central Valley. Specialized offerings include cardiovascular, pediatric, cancer, women's health, and psychiatric programs. The hospital also has several satellite health care facilities offering outpatient services. Swedish Covenant Hospital, founded by the Evangelical Covenant Church in 1886.

Swedish Health Services serves Seattle and the surrounding area through four acute care hospitals (and another in the works) as well as a an emergency care and specialty center, multiple primary care clinics, and a home health services unit. The health system also operates a physician group and a number of specialty clinics all operating under the Swedish Health moniker. In total the organization's hospitals are home to nearly 1,250 beds. Medical specialties include cardiac care, neurosurgery, cancer treatment, orthopedics, pediatrics, and women's health. Not-for-profit Swedish Health began in 1910 as a single hospital with 24 beds.

The not-for-profit medical provider renders care to residents of northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin through its flagship facility, SwedishAmerican Hospital, as well as a medical center, a network of about 15 primary care and specialty clinics, the region's largest home health care agency, and a full spectrum of outpatient wellness and education programs. The 400-bed SwedishAmerican teaching hospital is affiliated with the University of Illinois College of Medicine and provides patients with a variety of services, including cancer, heart, primary, and surgical care. At the helm of the organization -- founded in 1911 -- is CEO Bill Gorski.
