St. Francis Hospital
St. Francis Hospital can handle your gall bladder and sinus difficulties, but it's really on top of your heart problems. This specialty cardiac center -- New York's only certified cardiac center -- performs about 9,000 cardiac catheterizations, 3,500 coronary angioplasties, and nearly 2,000 open-heart operations every year. It also offers educational and clinical services. As part of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, St. Francis opened its doors in 1954 to children and adults. It was originally established as St. Francis Hospital and Sanatorium for Cardiac Children in 1936.
