Maine Medical Center
Maine Medical Center was founded in 1874 with 40 beds. Maine Medical Center provides healing for the residents of northern New England. Part of MaineHealth, the not-for-profit medical center consists of a tertiary care community hospital, The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, and outpatient clinics. The 640-bed teaching hospital provides a variety of nursing and medical educational programs. Specialty services include cancer care, geriatrics, emergency medicine, rehabilitation, and radiology. The hospital conducts research through the Maine Medical Center Research Institute.
