Kuakini Health System
Kuakini Medical Center, a 250-bed acute care hospital that provides specialty services including cancer treatment, cardiac care, and orthopedic surgery. The hospital serves as a teaching center for the University of Hawaii's John A. Burns School of Medicine. Kuakini Health System also operates the 234-bed Kuakini Geriatric Care facility, which offers nursing home and adult day care for Honolulu's senior citizens. The system also maintains two medical office buildings. The Kuakini Health System was founded by Japanese immigrants in 1900. It is a member of the Premier group purchasing alliance.
