The facility began operating as Sentara Potomac Hospital when it became part of the Sentara Healthcare network in 2009.

Poudre Valley Health System (PVHS) provides health care to residents of northern Colorado, western Nebraska, and southern Wyoming through the Poudre Valley Hospital and the Medical Center of the Rockies. With a total of some 415 beds, the two hospitals offer general medical and surgical services and trauma care. Individually, the hospitals feature orthopedic surgery and treatment centers for cancer and brain and spine disorders. PVHS also includes the Mountain Crest Behavioral Healthcare Center, which has some 40 beds and provides mental health services and substance abuse treatment, and a 96-acre, four-building campus that includes physician offices and outpatient services.

Presbyterian Hospital with more than 550 beds and bassinets, the hospital offers a full range of medical, surgical, and specialty services to a quarter of a million patients each year. The not-for-profit health system operates two other general hospitals in Huntersville and Matthews, as well as an orthopedic hospital and Hemby Children's Hospital. In addition, Presbyterian Healthcare maintains a network of primary care and specialty physicians and operates numerous outpatient centers, urgent care clinics, and other ancillary facilities. The system is a subsidiary of Novant Health.
