The Girard Medical Center provides long-term care, outpatient mental health services, and general medical and surgical care. St. Joseph's Hospital provides general medical and surgical care, as well as critical care, primary care, and specialty clinics. NPHS was incorporated in 1990 as a not-for-profit corporation to own and operate Girard Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital after both filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
