North Mississippi Health Services (NMHS) isn't contained by its name:North Mississippi health system reaches beyond the upper portion of Mississippi to provide health care to residents of northwestern Alabama and parts of Tennessee, as well.North Mississippi health system includes half a dozen community hospitals, including its flagship location, the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Combined, the facilities have about 900 beds. Specialty services include home health and long-term care, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, and treatment centers for cancer and digestive disorders. NMHS also operates more than 30 clinics that offer primary care and specialty health services.

North Philadelphia Health System (NPHS) is there to help. The system is comprised of two acute care hospitals with a total of just over 300 beds. The Girard Medical Center provides long-term care, outpatient mental health services, and general medical and surgical care. St. Joseph's Hospital provides general medical and surgical care, as well as critical care, primary care, and specialty clinics. NPHS was incorporated in 1990 as a not-for-profit corporation to own and operate Girard Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital after both filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

North Shore Medical Center (NSMC) provides medical care to the residents of several cities north of Boston, including Salem (aka The Witch City), Lynn, and Peabody. The network is home to two acute care hospitals, children's and rehabilitation hospitals, a heart institute, a women's center, and a number of community health centers. It also boasts more than 200 physicians and other health care professionals in its North Shore Physician Group. Its flagship, the NSMC Salem Hospital is a nearly 250-bed teaching hospital providing adult and pediatric services. The not-for-profit system is part of Partners HealthCare System.

North Shore University Hospital (formerly North Shore University Hospital Manhasset) knows you shouldn't have to leave the island for quality health care. The hospital has roughly 800 beds devoted to adult and pediatric medicine, oncology, heart surgery, rehabilitation, dentistry, and trauma emergency services, among other areas. As a tertiary care facility, most of the hospital's patients are referred to North Shore by their primary or secondary physicians. It also serves as a campus for the New York University School of Medicine. The Long Island hospital is home to the Don Monti Cancer Center and the Sandra Atlas Bass Cardiology Center. North Shore is part of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System.

North Sonoma County Hospital District helps more than just those who have tripped while stomping grapes. The district operates Healdsburg District Hospital, an acute care community hospital in northern California. North Sonoma County hospital offers a full array of health services, including emergency and trauma, surgery and rehabilitation, occupational medicine, and clinical laboratory. It also provides hospice care, a clinical laboratory, and an imaging center. Since taking the hospital over from Columbia Healthcare (now HCA) in 2002, the district has doubled the size of the ER and upgraded equipment.
