PLC Systems guards kidneys against ill effects of dehydration and toxic medicines. Its RenalGuard system, marketed in Europe, is a fluid balancing device that helps physicians monitor and maintain kidney fluid levels during medical imaging procedures. The company also developed the Heart Laser System, a carbon dioxide laser system that treats coronary artery disease; the system performs Transmyocardial Revascularization (or TMR) as an alternative to such conventional therapies as bypass surgery and balloon angioplasty. Novadaq is PLC Systems' exclusive distributor for its TMR business in the US; PLC agreed to sell the TMR business to Novadaq in 2010 to focus on development of RenalGuard for the US market.

Positron Corporation makes positron emission tomography (PET) scanners under the POSICAM and mPower trade names. The scanners are primarily used to detect coronary artery disease but also have applications in neurology and oncology. Medical centers such as the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and the Heart Center of Niagara use the system; the company has an installed base of about 30 systems in the US and abroad. Subsidiary IS2 Medical Systems (acquired in 2006) makes nuclear imaging devices, including the PulseCDC cardiac gamma camera.

Precision Optics makes specialized video cameras and stereo endoscopes for use in minimally invasive surgery. Its other products include laparoscopes (for abdominal surgery) and arthroscopes (for joint surgery), as well as sterilizable image couplers and beamsplitters that connect endoscopes to video cameras. The US is Precision Optics' biggest market, accounting for almost all sales, although the company has received regulatory approval to sell its products in Europe. In 2008 the company sold it custom optical thin film coatings business to privately held Optometrics, a subsidiary of Dynasil.

Pride Mobility Products makes motorized wheelchairs and scooters for elderly and disabled users. Its electric wheelchairs go by the names Jazzy, Jet, and Quantum Rehab, and scooters are sold under the Pride and Go-Go brands. Pride Mobility's Silver Star division makes automobile lifts, used to transfer a chair or scooter into the car. The company also makes chair lifts (assisting users in getting up from a sitting position), as well as manual wheelchairs. Founded in 1986, Pride Mobility is owned by the Meuser family. Scott Meuser is Pride's CEO and chairman of the board.

PRIM started its business on more than just a shoestring.
