The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, founded in 1986, is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center located on the Tampa campus of the University of South Florida. The flagship facility in this health system is the Hamot Medical Center, a tertiary-care hospital with about 350 beds. Hamot has an extensive residency program in a number of specialties, including a school of anesthesia run in cooperation with Gannon University.
