H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute
The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, founded in 1986, is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center located on the Tampa campus of the University of South Florida. The institute carries it out its stated mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer through patient care, research, and education. It operates a 200-bed medical and surgical facility, as well as outpatient treatment programs, a blood and marrow transplant program, and The Moffitt Clinic at Tampa General Hospital. Its research programs include study in the areas of molecular oncology, immunology, risk assessment, health outcomes, and experimental therapeutics.
