WGBH Educational Foundation owns and operates the WGBH public TV and radio stations that serve the Boston area. Its television operations include several digital channels (WGBH Create, WGBH World) as well as an on-demand service. WGBH is also one of the largest producers of programming for the Public Broadcasting Service, including such shows as Antiques Roadshow, Frontline, and Nova. The foundation gets funding from corporate grants and individual contributions, as well as from PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. WGBH first hit the airwaves in 1951.

White House Media, was founded by journalist Llewellyn King in 1973 as a publisher of papers and newsletters focused on topics such as energy, defense, technology, the environment, and politics. It began producing White House Chronicle, a television program airing on PBS, in 1998. King executive produces and hosts the weekly panel discussion of news events and one-on-one interviews. King sold most of King Publishing Group in 2006. Zodiak Media Group was formed in mid-2010 when the former RDF Media was acquired by Paris-based Zodiak Entertainment (majority-owned by Italy's De Agostini). After the buyout, RDF Media rebranded itself as Zodiak Media Group.
