Valmont Industries has four business segments: Engineered Support Structures (metal poles and other structures for the lighting, traffic, and wireless communications industries), Irrigation (agricultural irrigation equipment sold under the Valley brand), Utility Support Structures (steel and concrete poles and other structures for the utility industry), and Coatings (galvanizing, anodizing, and powder coating services). Other operations include the manufacture of tubular products and industrial fastener distribution. The company sells its products in more than 100 countries, though the US accounts for more than 70% of sales. Founder Robert Daugherty owns about 16% of Valmont.
