Sauber Motorsport AG
Sauber Motorsport is an auto racing team that competes in the Formula One grand prix racing circuit governed by the Federation Internationale de L'Automobile. It fields cars and drivers for the circuit, generating revenue primarily through sponsorships. Founder and namesake Peter Sauber began building race cars as an independent contractor in 1970. After working with Mercedes (now a brand owned by Daimler) during the 1980s, he formed his own Formula One team in 1993 and later joined forces with BMW to form BMW Sauber F1 Team. Sauber bought out the German automaker's 80% stake in the racing team in 2009.
