The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) promotes the sport of disc golf, a game played with specially designed flying discs and baskets, rather than dimpled balls and holes. Reading Football Club was formed back in 1871. The team, nicknamed the Royals, currently plays football (soccer) in the English Football League Championship (formerly known as Division 1). Reading FC played its home games at Elm Park stadium from 1896 until 1998, when Madejski Stadium became the team's home ground. Former Brentford, Brighton, and Crystal Palace boss Steve Coppell manages the squad. Nearly half of the club's revenues are generated on game days. Real Madrid ("real" means royal in Spanish) is one of Europe's most decorated football teams, boasting a record nine European Cups and 31 titles in the Spanish football league, Liga de Futbol Profesional. Started in 1902, the team (known to supporters as Los Merengues) draws huge crowds Santiago Bernabeu stadium. The Real Madrid operating company, which is a supporter-owned, not-for-profit business, also runs Spanish basketball team Real Madrid Baloncesto.

Rexall Sports owns and operates the Edmonton Oilers professional hockey club, one of the more storied franchises in the National Hockey League. Founded in 1972 by sports impresario Bill Hunter as the Alberta Oilers of the World Hockey Association, the team joined the NHL in 1979 and went on to win five Stanley Cup championships. Four of those title runs were led by hockey great Wayne Gretzky, while the fifth came in 1990 after The Great One was traded to the Los Angeles Kings. The team plays host at Rexall Place. Canadian billionaire Daryl Katz (The Katz Group) acquired the team in 2008 from a group of nearly 40 investors.
