Turtle Island Foods, Inc. was founded in 1980 by president and CEO Seth Tibbott. Turtle Island Foods, the stuffed tofu roast, available with or without all the fixin's, is the non-meat-eater's alternative to a traditional Thanksgiving feast. The frozen dinners, as well as Turtle company's other vegetarian, organic soy-based products (deli slices, sausages, burgers, franks, jerky, tempeh), are sold at food co-ops, health-food stores, and other grocery outlets, as well as to foodservice companies across the US. Despite the scoffing Turtle company and its products produce in carnivores, sales have been good: Turtle Island sold its 1 millionth tofurkey in 2006.
