Southern FS has been cultivating farmers since 1931. That's when the predecessor companies to this locally-owned agricultural co-op began sowing the seeds of support for Illinois producers. It has operations in Alexander, Franklin, Hardin, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, and Williamson counties in Illinois. Southern FS offers farmers a wide variety of products and services, from landscape planning to livestock feed and tractor fuel.

Founded to provide affordable, high-quality seed for Virginia farmers, Southern States Cooperative has grown into an agricultural powerhouse, serving its approximately 300,000 members, mainly in the mid-Atlantic and southern US states. The co-op makes and/or offers just about everything agricultural to its farmer/owners, including animal feed and fertilizer; seed processing; grain marketing; diesel, propane, and home-heating services; wholesale farm supplies; and even bib overalls. Its Southern States and Garden South stores sell farm supplies, garden products, and fuel through some 1,200 retail outlets in 23 states. Other services include crop financing, crop services, and an aquaculture program.

Staple Cotton Cooperative Association was formed in 1921 in response to a major problem facing Mississippi Delta cotton producers: the chaotic system by which their crops were marketed. Known today as Staplcotn, the organization is the oldest as well as one of the largest cotton marketing cooperatives in the United States. Our mission is to enhance our members' incomes by providing cost-effective marketing, warehousing, financing and other authorized services in a manner that fosters their trust and confidence in the cooperative and meets exemplary standards of business and personal conduct. Along with Stapldiscount, we provide a range of services to our members including domestic and export marketing, cotton warehousing and agricultural financing. The Mill Sales Program offers a flexible range of options for Mid-South and Southeastern cotton producers to market their crop. Staplcotn and Stapldiscount seek to provide a cost effective, high return program for all members.

Stewart & Jasper Orchards (S&J) shakes trees, bringing down nutty treasures. The company is a California nut and fruit grower and operates a state-of-the-art nut-hulling, -shelling, -processing, and -packing facility. In addition to bulk almonds and walnuts, it offers packaged foods such as chocolate-covered nuts, dried fruit, fruit preserves, and nut butters. S&J also grows and packs stone fruits, including peaches, nectarines, pluots, plumcots, and apricots, which are marketed under the Suprema Brand and J.J.'s Jackpot labels. While its 500 acres yield 2 to 3 million pounds of marketable products a year, S&J also contracts with local growers to meet customer demand. The company ships its products worldwide.

Stewart Grain acts as a steward of grain collection, processing, and marketing for midwestern US farmers. The family-owned company processes and sells at wholesale prices corn, beans, and wheat from four grain elevator locations in Illinois and Indiana. Its facilities have the capacity to handle more than a million bushels of grain, and it has access to three local railroads, which transport harvested grain to and from the elevators. Stewart Grain was founded in 1922 by Bert Etchison (with original partners Joe Weaver and A.J. Miller). His grandson, Burton Etchison, has been the company's president and CEO since 1982.
