Pro-Fac Cooperative grows big and strong on fruits and veggies. The farm co-op provides marketing and sales services to its approximately 500 member/owners across the US. The agricultural co-op sells its member-farmers' crops to companies in the food processing industry, including Birds Eye Foods (typically buys more than 40% of crops). Pro-Fac has members primarily in Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington. It was formerly a partial owner of Birds Eye, which was sold to Blackstone entity Pinnacle Foods in 2009. Since the sale, Pro-Fac has implemented a liquidation plan and looks to disband in 2012.

With about 8,000 employees among which are 450 scientists serving our clients in all markets, Provimi is a world leader in animal nutrition solutions. Provimi produces and purveys provisions. For those of you who dislike the pompous overuse of alliteration, Provimi makes animal food, primarily agricultural animal feed (mainly for swine, poultry, and cattle) in the form of premixes, concentrates, and complete feed. Its customers include livestock farmers, animal feed manufacturers, and veterinarians. The French company also makes specialty feeds (for young animals and animals with special dietary needs), as well as commercial fish and pet food. Provimi's operates 87 plants in some 30 countries and its products are available worldwide. KoroFrance owns some 87% of the company's shares.

The deficit in native cereal and protein production must be supplemented by the importation of animal feed ingredients. IAWS purchased two small feed trading businesses between 1988-1989 called Unigrain and James Allen. Another feed trading company R&H Hall plc was purchased by IAWS in September 1990 and at that time was a major acquisition doubling the size of the overall organisation. Founded in Cork in 1839 and quoted on the stock exchange since 1967, R&H Hall had a long established and well acknowledged record of service to Irish Agribusiness. All three companies were merged under the name R&H Hall, as this was the best known of the names.
