The US's Cargill, which had owned Seara since 2005, sold it to the large Brazilian beef processor, Marfrig, in 2010 for $900 in cash and debt assumption.

Simmons has a partnership with Organic-Gro and Tyson Foods, known as Regenerated Resources, which turns poultry waste from Tyson and Simmons into commercial and consumer fertilizers.
