Chupa Chups (pronounced "choopa choops") might be hard to say, but its products just roll off the tongue. A Spanish confectioner, the company makes some four billion lollipops a year and it offers more than 100 different flavors. The company produces Smint Xylicare "dental" candy, which it claims protects teeth from cavities, as well as Cremosa sugar-free strawberry and cream-flavored lollipops. It also licenses the Chupa Chups brand to makers of clothing, footwear, and personal care products. Founded in 1958 by Enric Bernat, Chupa Chups was owned and run by the Bernat family until 2006, when it was sold to leading Italian confectioner Perfetti Van Melle.

At one point, Swedish confectioner Cloetta and Finnish confectioner Fazer went together like chocolate and peanut butter. The two companies melted into Cloetta Fazer for eight years until 2008, when the relationship went sour and they broke back into separate entities. Now Cloetta is once again on its own, producing some 20,000 tons of chocolate and candy per year from its two production plants in Sweden. Its products are only sold in the Nordic countries; however, Cloetta buys cocoa exclusively from the Ivory Coast. As part of the demerger settlement with Fazer, Cloetta kept Sweden's third-largest throat-lozenge and lollipop manufacturer, Karamellpojkarna.

Cosan Ltd. also involves in the distribution of oil products, including ethanol, lubricants, and aviation fuel, as well as the operation of convenience stores through a network of 1,500 service stations in Brazil. It offers a range of sugar products comprising raw, organic, crystal, and refined sugars. Cosan Ltd. sells sugar to wholesale distributors, food manufacturers, and retail super markets under the Da Barra brand. Its principal ethanol product is fuel ethanol, which is used as an automotive fuel and as an additive in gasoline.
