Whittard of Chelsea Ltd
Whittard operates 135 coffee and tea retail shops in Great Britain and 30 more worldwide. The company also distributes its products to businesses throughout the world, including in the US, Japan, and Australia. Whittard, which was founded some 120 years ago in London, sells more than 60 varieties of tea and some 20 types of Arabica coffee. Its other products include hot chocolate, and tea brewing equipment, china and ceramics, and espresso brewing machines. Whittard was a unit of Iceland-based Baugur. With the collapse of Baugur in 2009, its assets were sold off and Wittard was acquired by London-based EPIC Private Equity.
