The stature gained by its relationship with the NAA allows USPA to represent all U.S. skydivers, not only before local, state and federal government bodies, but at all international skydiving events and meetings worldwide.

The USPS delivers 203 billion pieces of mail a year (at an average of 667 million per day) to some 149 million addresses in the US and its territories. The US president appoints nine of the 11 members of the board that oversee the USPS. The presidential appointees select the postmaster general, and together they name the deputy postmaster general; the two also serve on the board.

The United States Telecom Association (USTA) is a trade association that listens to and speaks up for the telecom industry. It represents more than 1,200 local exchange, long distance, wireless, Internet, and cable services companies. The group lobbies Congress for telecommunications-friendly legislation and encourages investment in high-speed Internet access. USTA traces its roots back to 1897, when a group of independent (not part of the Bell System) telephone executives joined forces to advocate for independent companies.

Counting among its ranks more than just steelworkers, members also include miners; upholsterers; and rubber, aluminum, brick, and glass workers. The group traces its roots back to 1936, when the Steelworkers Organizing Committee was formed. Six years later, the group joined forces with American laborers to become the USW, the largest private-sector union in North America.
