Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP
Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP's evolution as a leading international financial services law firm parallels in many ways the economic development of the nation and the world for more than 140 years. Milbank's roots can be traced back to 1866, with the inception of the original firm, Anderson, Adams & Young. Over the years, many successor firms were created through the addition of new partners and the retirement or death of others.
The first merger took place in April 1929, when the then-successor firm, Murray & Aldrich, combined with Webb, Patterson & Hadley and became Murray, Aldrich & Webb. In 1931, the firm merged with Masten & Nichols to become Milbank, Tweed, Hope & Webb. The Firm's present name dates from 1962.
