Oil States International, Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides specialty products and services to the oil and gas drilling and production companies worldwide. OMNI Energy Services Corp. provides integrated oilfield services to oil and gas companies operating in the Gulf of Mexico, the Rocky Mountain region, and the south central United States. OMNI Energy Services Corp. Seismic Services segment provides onshore seismic drilling, operational support, permitting, and survey services in the marsh, swamps, shallow water, and contiguous dry areas primarily in Louisiana and Texas. OMNI Energy Services Corp. Environmental Services segment offers dock-side and offshore hazardous and non-hazardous oilfield waste management and environmental cleaning services, including drilling rig, tank, and vessel cleaning; safe vessel entry; naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) decontamination; platform abandonment; pipeline flushing; gas dehydration; and hydro blasting. This segment also provides NORM surveys, cleaning and waste disposal, tank degassing and demolition, rig pit cleaning, oilfield waste disposal, hydro blasting, dockside and offshore cleaning, and offshore sandblasting and painting services. OMNI Energy Services Corp. Equipment Leasing segment offers rental oilfield equipment, such as water, mud, and disposal pumps; mud, fuel, and frac tanks; air compressors; wireline units; generators; high pressure washers; light towers; tubing and handling tools; and pressure washers, steam cleaners, and oilfield cooling fans, as well as provides land based environmental cleaning services. OMNI Energy Services Corp. was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Carencro, Louisiana.

OPTI Canada is doing its best to optimize the value of Canadian oil sands. OPTI Canada Inc. uses its OrCrude technology to upgrade bitumen without natural gas, providing a more cost-efficient method of processing. Combined with other processes, the technology is expected to produce high-quality synthetic crude from oil sands. OPTI Canada is in a joint venture with energy company Nexen to develop the Long Lake Project in the Athabasca oil sands area of Alberta. The project is the first to integrate in-situ bitumen recovery with on-site upgrading. OPTI Canada owns about 1.5 billion barrels of synthetic crude (primarily premium sweet crude having a low-sulfur content) expected to be produced annually by the project.

PAA Natural Gas Storage has much in store for its customers. PAA Natural Gas Storage, LLC operates and manages natural gas storage facilities in Michigan and Louisiana. PAA Natural Gas Storage, LLC assets, which together contain a storage capacity of 40 bcf (billion cubic feet), include its Bluewater facility located near Detroit and its Pine Prairie facility in Evangeline Parish. PAA Natural Gas Storage, LLC serves customers in the local gas distribution, electric power generation and utilities, pipeline, and industrial sectors and generates the bulk of its revenue from fee-based contractual services. PAA Natural Gas Storage, LLC was established by oil transporter Plains All American Pipeline (PAA) and another investor in 2005. PAA Natural Gas Storage filed an initial public offering (IPO) in 2010.

PDTI Holdings (dba Particle Drilling Technologies) is developing an advanced drilling technology it hopes will provide a dramatic increase in penetration rates for drilling oil and gas wells. PDT's role in the energy industry is to dramatically improve drilling efficiency; thereby making new energy reserves economically available through a significant reduction in finding and development costs. PDTI Holdings LLC Particle Impact Drilling System advanced drilling technology is designed to drill through deep, hard, and abrasive zones or other difficult-to-drill geologic formations. The Particle Impact Drilling System uses a custom-built drill bit fitted with jetting nozzles and polycrystalline diamond compact cutting structures. Never able to make the technology profitable, PDTI Holdings LLC filed for and emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2009.
