Jewish Community Foundation
The Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles helps those who want to help others. Acting as a clearinghouse, the foundation assists Jewish individuals and families who want to establish charitable funds. It helps donors with tax and estate planning, takes care of administrative tasks, and manages investment portfolios. The foundation provides grants for organizations located primarily in the Los Angeles area and in Israel; recipients need not be Jewish. In 2007, it distributed $77 million in grants. The Jewish Community Foundation manages more than 1,200 funds in all and $790 million in assets.
