Ball State University (BSU) has an enrollment of about 20,000 undergraduate and graduate students. It offers about 170 undergraduate majors, more than 75 master's degree programs, and about a dozen each of certificate, preprofessional, and doctoral degree programs. Begun as a private teacher's college in 1899, Ball St. became a university in 1965.
