The long wait is finally over as Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has finally launched their new car in the fleet of its exiting cars with the name of A Star. This stylish, attention seeker and highly fuel efficient car has already tapped the heart beat of its onlookers. A Star is a hatch back car that has been designed keeping in mind the international standards and prerequisites. 3 variants for this car have been launched by its manufacturers, with the basic model starting from Rs. 3.45 lakh.
Maruti's A Star has been strategically designed to give an eye to eye competition to its Hyudai's i10 that was launched in the market in the year 2007. Both these cars belonging to the same segment are sure to give tough time not to just each other but even to buyers with their striking similarities.
Just the first look at A Star will remind people the looks of i10. On one hand, features like a prominent strip to house the number plate, headlamps in the shape of flame extending from bonnet to bumper and the low slung grille have become a trademark of Huydai i10 and on the other out and out bulged appearance, a vertical a pillar and inverted C pillar are the eye catchers of Maruti's A star.
A Star has extended leg space with comparatively a bigger glass in the rear allowing large amount of natural to pass by. This 1000 cc engine car has a 3 cylinder unit generating a max output power of 48kW (65hp), enabling the car to have higher fuel efficiency. Maruti A Star with a 12 valve MPFI unit generates 67 PS of max power at 6200rpm and 90Nm of torque at 3500rpm.
Maruti Suzuki's A Star, made as per the European standards has an all new KB series engine, which is the biggest high of this car. This Euro V compliant car with CO2 emissions has a bold design language has large wheel arches with strong lines. From all perspectives this car is a true driver's car with the speedometer area quite prominent and easy to read. This car also has a first of its kind dash mounted tachometer in this segment of cars.
