Gir National Park
The Gir Lodge is 65 km from Junagadh railway station and 60 km from Keshod airport. Situated at the edge of the world-renowned Gir Forest, the only home of the Asiatic lion. The Gir National Park and Sanctuary, covering 1400 sq km of dry deciduous forest and tropical thorn forest, is home to the leopard, jungle cat, rusty spotted cat and hyena. Among the prey species are the sambhar, cheetal, four-horned antelope, wild boar and hare. Gir is also a bird watcher's paradise as it has more than 200 species of avi-fauna.
