Herman Milk Foods Ltd(HMFL) has set up a state of the art milk processing plant at village Retgarh, Tehsil Samana, District Patiala, Punjab. The plant was set up in the year 1994 with a capacity to process 3 lakh litres of milk per day. In 2001, the company could not able to manage its affairs during recession so it turned as sick industrial company and registered with BIFR. In 2006, after change of management, the new management rehabilitated the unit and cleared the dues of the secured creditors and turned its net worth positive. In 2009, the company is out of preview of the BIFR. Further, it had enhanced the capacity to 4 lakh litres of milk per day.
