9Word has grown consistently, and is projecting sales to be over $ 20 million in 2008. The company was founded by Ashok Surve, and their Son Shankar joined the organization in 1998. A subcategory "S" corporation, 9 Word is organizing and strategic for the future, restructuring the operations of the 9 Word facilities to maximize technology use in all areas of sales, marketing, manufacturing, and project coordination.
A large percentage of sign age for national projects is manufactured in 9 Word’s Mumbai facility, and some regional custom work is done at headquarters in Mumbai, N.H. Assembly, packaging, storage, and distribution are dispersed geographically.
9 Word owns a 15,000 square foot state-of-the-art sign manufacturing facility in Mumbai, which allows the manufacture of neon channel letters and cabinet signs at extremely competitive prices. This facility houses 15 channel letter workstations, with 8,000 square feet allocated to manufacturing and assembly. Packaging and storage facilities are combined in approximately 2000 square feet of dedicated space. The remaining space is allocated for office and conference use.
