The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), India's premier apex chamber covers a membership of over 100,000 companies and professionals across the country. As an apex industry body, ASSOCHAM represents the interests of industry and trade, interfaces with Government on policy issues and interacts with counterpart international organizations to promote bilateral economic issues. ASSOCHAM is represented on all national and local bodies and is, thus, able to pro-actively convey industry viewpoints, as also communicate and debate issues relating to public-private partnerships for economic development.

The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry was started in 1917 as a Chamber of Commerce representing the entire old State of Hyderabad. That State included parts of present Karnataka, Maharashtra as well as all the Telugu speaking Districts of the old Nizam’s dominions. The year 1956 saw the formation of Andhra Pradesh and in 1958, its name was changed to 'The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry'. The Stock Exchange - Ahmedabad is the second oldest exchange of India. It was constituted in the year 1894 as a Public Charitable Trust. Ahmedabad Stock Exchange (ASE) started under a banyan tree and thereafrom progressed year after year. It holds a unique place in India.

It is the oldest one in Asia, even older than the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which was established in 1878.
