New Suzuki Swift brochure leaked, details revealed
Earlier we told you about the next-gen Swift production images being revealed on the internet. Now, the 2017 Swift hatchback brochure has been leaked on the internet via Suzuki Blog. According to the leaked images, the all new generation Swift will be 15 percent lighter in weight and the design is now sleeker than the current generation Swift.
In terms of power, the Japan-spec version of new Swift might be powered by a 1.0 litre turbocharged and 1.2 litre petrol engine. The all new Swift will also get the SHVS as an option, although it's not clear if this technology will be offered in India as well, once the car gets launched here. The engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox but customers in Japan will have a choice to pick a CVT too. On the exterior front, the new Swift gets new alloy wheels, hexagonal grill and a redesigned bumper with projector headlamps and LED DRL's. Along with this, the C-pillar gets the black treatment for a floating roof effect. At the rear, the 2017 Swift features a new tail lamp design and an integrated spoiler on the roof.
The next-gen Swift also gets upgrades in the interiors and looks more plush than the current generation Swift. In line with the Swift's sporty positioning, the cabin is appointed in black along with chrome inserts on the dashboard, where the air-con vents are now in circular shape. In addition, it gets a touch screen infotainment display and an instrument cluster with MID screen. According to the leaked brochure for the Japanese market, the next-gen Swift will be offered in eight colours and multiple variants.
For the Indian spec version, the next gen Swift might get the same engine as on the current generation Swift -1.2 litre petrol and 1.3 litre DDiS engine. Also, Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the Swift Dzire in 2017, ahead of the Swift hatchback. The car in India will be positioned below the Baleno hatchback and will be sold from the normal dealership network and not the Nexa stores.
