Maruti Suzuki August vehicle sales up 6.4 per cent

Maruti Suzuki India sold total of 1,17,864 vehicles in August 2015, a growth of 6.4 per cent. This includes 1,06,781 units in the domestic market and 11,083 units in exports.

The company had sold a total of 1,10,776 units in August 2014.

In August 2015, sales of mini cars Alto and Wagon R jumped 8.6 per cent to 37665 units from 34686 units in the same month last year.

However, sales of compact cars like Swift, Ritz, Celerio and Dzire declined by 11.30 per cent Year-on-Year to 41,461 units.

During the month, total export sales of Maruti Suzuki declined 11.1 per cent YoY to 11,083 vehicles.

On a year-to-date basis till August 2015, the company has solf 580905 units, up 13.4 per cent, against 5,12,050 vehichles in the same period period last year.
