L&T secures ultra-mega ADNOC Offshore order worth over ₹15,000 crore

Larsen & Toubro's (L&T's) offshore hydrocarbon business has secured an order worth more than ₹15,000 crore from ADNOC Offshore for a major project in the West Asia, the company said on Tuesday.
L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore (LTEH Offshore) will execute the project through a consortium arrangement and serve as its lead partner. The project involves developing multiple offshore facilities.
LTEH Offshore will execute the major share of the project scope, including the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of offshore facilities. The work also includes upgrading existing facilities.
A significant portion of the fabrication work will be undertaken at L&T's fabrication yards, drawing on the company's integrated engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning capabilities.
L&T classifies orders valued at more than ₹15,000 crore as “ultra-mega”. The company did not disclose the project's precise order value.

LTEH Offshore provides engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning solutions for the offshore oil and gas industry. It has in-house engineering capabilities, fabrication facilities and a dedicated fleet of marine vessels.
The business has delivered shallow-water and deep-water field developments across geographies. Over the past four decades, it has executed offshore projects involving fixed platforms, subsea pipelines and structures, brownfield upgrades and decommissioning work.

Shares of state-owned Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) fell sharply on Tuesday after the government launched an offer for sale (OFS) to reduce its stake in the insurer, with the floor price set at a discount to the previous closing price.
The floor price was set at ₹382, a 10.8 per cent discount to Monday’s closing price of ₹428.50 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

The toll in Assam's flood rose to 87 with two more fatalities, and nearly 130,000 people were still affected by the deluge even though water was receding from most of the inundated areas across the state, officials said on Tuesday.

A group of 25 Democratic-ruled states has moved a US court against President Donald Trump's decision to impose tariffs on 60 economies accounting for 99.4 per cent of American imports.
Last month, the US imposed a fresh round of tariffs ranging between 10 per cent and 12.5 per cent on these 60 countries, citing failure on the issue of forced labour, to replace the 10 per cent global levies that expired on July 24.

Bangladesh has sought clarification from India over its position on deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina's planned press conference in New Delhi on Wednesday, coinciding with the second anniversary of her government's ouster, a minister here said on Monday.
Addressing a media briefing, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam also said that Hasina's public political activities from Indian territory could have a negative impact on bilateral relations between the two countries.
