Describing the air in India, China and Russia as 'filthy', US President Donald Trump on Thursday (local time) denounced rival and democratic nominee Joe Biden's plans to tackle climate change.
During the final presidential debate in Nashville, Tennessee, Trump said that the action on climate change was unfair to the United States.
"Look at China, how filthy it is. Look at Russia, look at India -- it's filthy. The air is filthy," he said.
Countering Joe Biden, while speaking on carbon emissions Trump lauded his decisions with regard to reducing carbon emissions.
"We have the trillion trees programme. We have some many different programmes. I do love the environment and what I do want is crystal clear air and water. We have the lowest carbon emissions which is a big standard which Barack Obama (former president)."
Trump further claimed that under his administration the US has had the lowest emission numbers in the last 35 years. "We have the best carbon emission numbers that we have had in the last 35 years. I took out the Paris accord because we spent trillions of dollars and we were treated very unfairly, " he said without mentioning the word 'climate change' during his reply to the moderator.
Biden responded saying that "Climate change is an existential threat to humanity, and we have a moral obligation towards it. We are being told by leading scientist we have no time and we will reach a time no return in 8-10 years."
"Four more years of this man (pointing to Trump), all those regulations will be eliminated that were put in to clean up the climate and to limit the emissions," Biden said.
The final debate took place at the Curb Event Center at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, moderated by NBC's Kristen Welker.

JSW Energy on Thursday said its step-down subsidiary JSW Renew Energy Forty Five has inked a power purchase agreement with Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) for a grid connected 100 MW Solar Project.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday raided several locations connected to Anil Ambani as part of its ongoing investigation into the Yes Bank loan fraud case. ED's action comes after State Bank of India (SBI) decided to classify telecom company Reliance Communications as 'fraud' and will report its former director, Anil Ambani, to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The ED is currently examining over 50 companies and 25 individuals believed to be part of the network.

US President Donald Trump has criticised American technology companies for turning to China for manufacturing and hiring workers from India. He warned that such practices would no longer continue under his leadership.
Speaking at the AI Summit on Wednesday (local time), Trump said the tech industry had followed what he called a “radical globalism”, which had left many Americans feeling betrayed.

US President Donald Trump announced that there will be a baseline tariff starting at 15 per cent and going up to 50 per cent on all imports, during an artificial intelligence summit in Washington on Wednesday (local time).
“We’ll have a straight, simple tariff of anywhere between 15 and 50 per cent,” Trump said, adding that countries with which the US has strained diplomatic ties could face duties at the higher end of the range.

Electric two-wheeler maker Ola Electric has struck a divergent note with the auto industry, which has appealed to the government to cut the basic Customs duty (BCD) on traction motors by half due to the ongoing export restrictions placed by China on standalone magnets.
While the industry has asked the ministry of heavy industries (MHI) to reduce the basic customs duty on traction motors to 7.5 per cent from the current 15 per cent.
