'Curfew is the only option': Harbhajan Singh unhappy after migrant workers gather at Bandra station

Amid the coronavirus outbreak, where all have been asked to stay indoors, around 3,000-plus migrants arrived at the Bandra railway station in Mumbai demanding transportation facilities to return to their native places.

Seeing putting their own and even other lives in danger, cricketer Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter to express his disappointment.

He wrote, "Curfew is the only option to keep everyone inside..what happened in Bandra today is unacceptable.. people not understanding the situation..putting their life and many others in danger. @narendramodi @AUThackeray."

The crowd gathered after PM Narendra Modi extended the lockdown date to May 3. The Mumbai Police, which attempted to cajole them from gathering, resorted to a mild lathi charge when the crowd seemed to be going out of control.

As for the migrants, they demanded that they could not continue to live away from their homes or families in different parts of India. They asked the police to arrange suitable transportation facilities to enable them to go to their respective towns and villages.

The coronavirus has surely got everyone self-quarantined as the pandemic continues to grow worldwide. Sporting events across the globe have been either cancelled or suspended.

The fate of the 13th edition of the IPL also hangs in balance with the BCCI looking at an October-November window now to host the cash-rich league.
