2018 Ford Figo Cross: Ford’s latest compact crossover to be unveiled on 31 January

2018 Ford Figo Cross is now only a few days apart from an official unveil on 31 January, and this will be the first of kind car in Ford's lineup in India. The kind in question is a crossover between an SUV and a hatchback, so expect the Ford Fogo Cross to get SUV-like styling and dimensions of a hatchback. Unlike the Toyota Etios Cross, the Ford Figo Cross is an all-new product with some major changes to its exterior, interior and mechanics, in comparison to its hatchback version. The front fascia is marked by the same hexagonal grille and headlamp cluster. The spy shot of the Ford Figo Cross published by Carwale shows that the Figo Cross will miss out on DRLs, however fog lamps are placed in the bumper. Racing stripes, roof-rails and all-black wing mirrors give it the crossover look.

While details are scarce, the new Ford Figo Cross is likely to get an all-new 1.2-litre Dragon series petrol engine which is likely to shed 89 hp of power. The car will also continue to come with the same 1.5-litre diesel engine with 100 hp mated to a five-speed gearbox. Expect Ford to also offer automatic transmission on this new Figo variant.

On the inside, the new Ford Figo Cross gets floating touchscreen display that we have seen on the 2017 Ford Ecosport and also replaces the button-heavy cabin with a simple infotainment system. The interior picture suggests no automatic climate control system.

Ford has now confirmed that the new Figo Cross will be revealed on 31 January. However, the Figo Cross or the soon to launch Ford Mustang will not make it to Auto Expo 2018 as the American brand has decided not be a part of the event.
