The wait for your pre-booked JioPhone might get over soon as Reliance Jio reportedly will complete the delivery of Reliance Jio phone in the next 15 to 30 days.
Various media reports suggest that the delivery is expected to happen by the end of November as the phones already had reached smaller towns and retailers have started delivering these phones.
Meanwhile, Reliance Jio refuted all the rumours that stated that the firm had halted JioPhone production and the company has been in talks with Google to manufacture an Android based smartphone.
Denying the news report, Reliance Jio said that JioPhone is committed to fulfilling the country’s digital vision.
"Jio welcomes the initial 6 million Indians who are moving to digital life with the JioPhone and will soon announce the next JioPhone booking date., the company said.
Pre-booking of Reliance Jio was halted just after sometime when it started. The company opened pre-bookings on August 24 and was reportedly flooded with orders via both the Jio website and MyJio app. The servers for the two channels even slowed down momentarily due to the huge amount of JioPhone orders.
But later on, various media reports suggested that around six million people had pre registered for the latest offering from Reliance Jio.
Reliance Jio announced the phone at the 40th AGM in July this year and customers need to pay Rs 1,500 as a security deposit that will be refundable after three years. If you are planning to own one or already place the order, you will need to pay remaining Rs 1,000 at the time when you receive your JioPhone.
In terms of tariff, Reliance Jio has paired the JioPhone with Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan plan priced at Rs 153 per month. As announced by the company, voice calls including local and national outgoing calls will be free for lifetime and customers will also unlimited internet with an upper limit of 500MB per day.
