Maruti Suzuki sales up 9.3 per cent in October
The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday reported 9.3% increase in wholesale at 135128 units for October.
The company had sold 123684 vehicles in the domestic market in the year-ago period.
While sales of mini cars - Alto, WagonR - dipped by 4.2% to 32490 units in October, those of compacts (Swift, Celerio, Baleno, Ignis, DZire, Tour S) increased by 24.7% to 62480 units. Sales of midsize sedan Ciaz dropped by 35.4% to 4107 units during the month under review. Demand for utility vehicles (Gypsy, Ertiga, S Cross, Vitara Brezza) remained strong and grew by 29.8% to 23382 units last month.
Exports increased by 4.2% to 10446 units in October.
