Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched India's vaccination drive against the novel coronavirus via video conferencing.

Billed as the world's largest vaccination program, covering the entire length and breadth of the country, the drive aims to first inoculate millions of its healthcare and frontline workers and reach an estimated 3 crore people by the end of its first phase.

Amid growing concerns over its privacy policy, popular messaging app WhatsApp on Friday (January 15) announced that it has decided to postpone the planned privacy update. Whatsapp said that the postponement of the privacy update will give users more time to review the policy and accept its terms and conditions. It is to to be noted that Whatsapp is owned by tech giant FAcebook.

According to Whatsapp, the decision to postpone the privacy update has been taken due to misinformation causing concern among people.

Drug firm Strides Pharma Science on Friday said its step-down wholly-owned subsidiary, Strides Pharma Global, has received approval from the US health regulator for Emtricitabine and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate tablets, used to treat HIV.

The approved product is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug (RLD), Truvada tablets of Gilead Sciences.
