GE Power India's board on Wednesday approved the acquisition of 50 per cent stake in NTPC GE Power Services Pvt Ltd for Rs 7.2 crore.

Board of directors of GE Power India Ltd in its meeting held today i.e., 14 April, 2021 has approved acquisition of 50 per cent of the issued and paid-up share capital of NTPC GE Power Services Pvt Ltd (NGSL), a BSE filing said.

Hyderabad-based Dr Reddy’s Laboratories (DRL), the Indian partner for Russia’s Sputnik V, will use the government’s vaccination cold chain infrastructure, along with its own cold chain capabilities, for last-mile distribution of the vaccine in India.

Further, 60-70 per cent of Sputnik V’s global production is set to take place in India, said DRL.

The number of new coronavirus cases in India hit a record daily high with over 200,000 infections being reported in a day, while the active cases surpassed the 14- lakh mark,according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.

With the new cases, the total tally of Covid-19 cases in the country rose to 14,074,564.

He had on Tuesday isolated himself after some officials in his contact tested positive for coronavirus.

The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has postponed the examinations of Classes 10 and 12 in view of a spike in COVID-19 cases, an official said on Wednesday.

The exams of the high school, higher secondary and diploma in pre-school education (vocational course) were scheduled to begin from April 30 and May 1.

In view of the shortage of Remdesivir in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directed the state health department to acquire 25,000 injections of Remdesivir from Gujarat's Ahmedabad on an urgent basis.
