Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Tuesday announced the launch of its second AWS infrastructure Region in India in Hyderabad that will support more than 48,000 full-time jobs annually through a planned investment of more than $4.4 billion (Rs 36,300 crore) in the country by 2030.

The construction and operation of the AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region is also estimated to add approximately $7.6 billion (Rs 63,600 crore) to India's gross domestic product by 2030, the company said in a statement.

The startup ecosystem's funding winter could last another 12 to 18 months and the industry may face "a lot of turmoil and volatility", warned Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy.

"This is going to be tough next year. My estimate is that a lot of startup founders will hit the market between April to June next year, and that's the moment of truth for the ecosystem," Krishnamurthy said during an event organised by The Economic Times.

Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL) has announced that users on the Paytm app will now be able to make UPI payments to mobile numbers across all UPI payment apps, even if the recipient is not registered with Paytm.

With this, Paytm app users can instantly send and receive money to and from any mobile number with a registered UPI ID, regardless of who the service provider is.

At least 24 vehicles were damaged after a truck lost control on the downward slope of a bridge on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway late Sunday evening, in which several persons suffered injuries with eight of them being hospitalised, a police official said.

The accident occurred on Navale bridge to suspected brake failure of the truck when it was moving towards Pune, he said.
