Lok Sabha elections 2024: The Election Commission on Thursday asked the government to stop delivering WhatsApps messages about ‘Viksit Bharat’, sending a notice after Opposition parties complained that the letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi violated rules.

Citing the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), which is now in effect, the ECI has also sought a compliance report on the matter immediately from MeitY.

The Burman family, owner of consumer goods major Dabur, are seeking the cancellation of stock options valued at Rs 350 crore granted to Religare chairperson Rashmi Saluja by Care Health Insurance, a subsidiary of Religare, according to a report by The Economic Times (ET). Saluja serves as the non-executive chairperson of Care Health.

The crux of the dispute lies in the alleged wrongful grant of 22.7 million stock options, equivalent to 1.25 per cent of Care Health's share capital, to Saluja in January 2022.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India on Wednesday submitted before the Bombay High Court that it might issue a corrigendum to the summons issued to Zee Entertainment Enterprises’ founder Subhash Chandra in alleged fund diversion case. The market regulator also said that it would not take any subsequent action for three weeks.

The market regulator’s statement comes in a response to the petition filed by Chandra alleging that the summons issued by Sebi is effectively a show cause notice and contains “conclusive” allegations.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Wednesday declined an interim relief order that would restrain Google from levying service fees on app developers until a final decision is made by the regulator.

Tata Sons is set to divest a 0.65 per cent stake in its flagship Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Tuesday in the open market, according to a term sheet. It will offload 23.4 million shares at a floor price of Rs 4,001.

The base price, which is 3.7 per cent lower than the TCS stock’s last close, will enable Tata Sons to raise Rs 9,362 crore ($1.13 billion). JP Morgan and Citi are the investment banks handling the share sale.
